About Constitutional Law Society

The Constitutional Law Society (CLS) is an academic society that was established in 2012 to encourage and develop an understanding of Constitutional Law. Its objective is to further knowledge and create a supportive environment for academic discussions and thought about constitutional matters.

Over the years the society has conducted various quiz competitions, mock parliaments and lectures by eminent scholars on various contemporary topics of Constitutional Law.

They are associated with the D.D. Basu Trust which organises an annual essay writing competition and an endowment lecture. Similarly, the M K Nambyar Lecture is also organised by the CLS. Last year CLS became a part of the National Constitution Society which is a network of constitution law societies and organisations across India.

The CLS blog aims to further the objectives of the Society by encouraging research and academic output in this field.

Theme

The Constitutional Law Society welcomes all the articles containing a connection with contemporary issues on constitutional law, including legislative analysis, analysis of recent judgements, and comparative studies with other legal jurisdictions and constitutional frameworks.

In addition to this, we also invite submissions for the “Court Watch” section on our blog. In this section, we aim to provide summaries and analyses of the judgments of constitutional importance passed by the High Courts and the Supreme Court.
