ONLINE PANEL DISCUSSION ON WOMEN IN IP:  DECODING THE GENDER GAP IN INTELLECTUAL PROPERTY RIGHTS FOR ENSURING A SUSTAINABLE FUTURE

About the Event

On the occasion of International Women’s Day, CIPR is organizing a panel discussion in order to expand the perspective about the gender gap in the field of IPR and how to eliminate it. Various studies have shown that inventors and creators of IP who apply for patents and other IP rights have been predominantly male. This gender imbalance may indicate that the society is not making full use of its entire talent pool in innovative activity. Therefore, it is of great importance to track and analyze the gender gaps in the context of IPRs.

In view of this scenario and keeping in consonance with the theme of this year’s International Women’s Day as given by the United Nations, it is important that we analyze and understand the reasons for the said gender disparity and provide possible solutions to overcome the same for ensuring a sustainable future.
