About the Organisers

Kautilya School of Public Policy (KSPP), under the aegis of GITAM (Deemed to be University), Hyderabad, is one of India’s premier institutions for public policy education. It offers a full-time Master’s in Public Policy (MPP) and a Doctoral Program (PhD), combining global best practices with India’s policy realities. With specialisations in Business & Government, Environment & ESG, Economics for Policy, Global Affairs, and Technology & Society, Kautilya trains future policymakers to lead in a rapidly changing world.

Data Security Council of India (DSCI), an initiative of NASSCOM, is a leading industry body promoting data protection, privacy, and cybersecurity. DSCI works with governments, regulators, and industry to advance research, policy advocacy, and best practices in digital security.

Together, DSCI and KSPP present the National Policy Challenge 2025, a flagship competition inviting India’s brightest minds to reimagine governance in the age of Generative AI.

About the Event

Theme: “Generative AI – Crafting the Policies of the Future”

The National Policy Challenge 2025 focuses on exploring how India can build effective, responsible, and forward-looking policy frameworks for Generative AI. Participants will identify emerging challenges in AI governance, propose innovative and implementable policy solutions, and engage in meaningful debates with peers and experts. Participants will also gain access to mentorshipexpert feedback, and exposure to key stakeholders and public policy practitioners.

Event Structure & Timeline

  • Round 1: Virtual Mode – First Week of November 2025
  • Final Round: Offline at Kautilya School of Public Policy, Hyderabad22nd November 2025
  • Location: Hyderabad, Telangana, India

Note: The problem statement will be released after the registration period closes.

Eligibility

  • Undergraduate students
  • Postgraduate students
  • PhD scholars and researchers
  • Young professionals from academic and policy institutions across India

Team Formation Rules

  • Team Size: 2 or 3 members per team
  • Discipline: All members must be from the same discipline (Law / Policy / Research / Technology / Economics)
  • Institution: All members must belong to the same institution and school
  • Interdisciplinary teams are not allowed.

Example: Three students from the School of Law, ABC University can form a team, but a mix of Law, Technology, and Economics students is not permitted.
