How did you Apply?

I saw a post of Uttar Pradesh Judicial Reforms Council’s linked In page containing the information about the vacancies for interns, a goggle form link was provided in that post, I filled the Google form and attached my CV in the form itself.

Work profile/ Main tasks

During the internship interns researched on various women related issues in society and attended knowledgeable webinars. As the intern with the Judicial Reform Council, the main task of the interns was to conduct research on the topics allotted by the mentors and to come up with innovative ideas as to how the status of women can be improved in Uttar Pradesh.

In first task the interns were required to research and come up with loopholes in our legal system where judicial reforms are needed  to prepare a report on the same.

In next  task a district of Uttar Pradesh was given, the task was to search about the representation of women in district courts and panchayats, rate of crime against women in the district, women representation in different sectors like IT, education, politics, etc., number of women police stations (mahila thana) in the district and miscellaneous, activities like Women Powerline, pink booths, pink patrolling etc., Female literacy rate, sex ratio, socio Economic status of women in the district, government policies for women welfare and their implementation in that particular state.

In the last there was a webinar conducted by the NJRC for all interns on ‘CV Building’, in collaboration with Ms. Sammanika Rawat Ma’am and it was an awesome and very much knowledgeable webinar to know about how to make CV.

Work Environment

It was an online Internship and the work environment was nice because I was able to ask or discuss about any problem or difficulty I had in completing the task or about anything related to internship. All the mentors were very helpful.

Good Things

The good thing about the internship was that I learnt about the issue related to judicial reforms about women, I learnt about the position of women related policies, issues, laws at the district level. And the best was the webinar at the end of the internship about CV building, of course it was awesome. Overall the internship was very much knowledgeable for all the interns.

Bad Things

There was no bad thing about that internship with UPJRC.

Stipend (if any)

No stipend was given, but many new things were learnt during the internship and a great experience it was as an intern there.
