The Moot Court Society (MCS), Law Centre-I, Faculty of Law, University of Delhi, is dedicated to promoting and enhancing moot court activities. It organizes intra-centre competitions, national and international moot court contests, and trial advocacy competitions. MCS plays a vital role in mentoring students, fostering legal research, advocacy, and argumentation skills.
Law Centre-I (LC-I), Faculty of Law, University of Delhi, established in 1970, is a premier institution in legal education. With a focus on academic excellence, holistic development, and professional training, LC-I integrates clinical legal education, simulations, role plays, and experiential learning into its curriculum. LC-I has consistently demonstrated excellence in advocacy, moot court competitions, legal aid, and social justice outreach.
About the Opportunity
The XVIII LC-I All Delhi (NCR) Moot Court Competition, 2025 is a prestigious annual moot court competition designed for law colleges and universities across Delhi-NCR. Over the years, the competition has gained recognition for its intellectually stimulating problems and high-calibre judging panels, including Supreme Court and High Court judges, senior advocates, and legal scholars.
The competition provides participants with an opportunity to engage in rigorous legal research, sharpen advocacy skills, and develop legal reasoning. Teams will be tested on their ability to present persuasive arguments, interpret legal principles, and respond to judicial queries effectively.
The 2025 edition focuses on international law, with a particular emphasis on state sovereignty, diplomatic immunity, and responsibilities of nations in cross-border disputes.
Theme
The theme for the 2025 edition is “International Law and Cross-Border Disputes”, covering issues such as:
- State Sovereignty and Territorial Integrity
- Bilateral Investment Treaties (BITs) and Investor-State Dispute Settlement (ISDS)
- Diplomatic Immunity and International Arbitration
- Legal and Ethical Implications of Retrospective Taxation on Foreign Investors
- Responsibilities of Successor States in International Treaties
The moot problem presents a complex geopolitical scenario, requiring participants to analyze legal frameworks, case laws, and international conventions.
Eligibility
The competition is open to:
- All law colleges and institutions imparting legal education (both 5-year and 3-year LL.B. courses) recognized by the Bar Council of India, situated in Delhi-NCR.
- Each institution can send one team to participate in the competition.
- Team members must be bonafide law students enrolled in an LL.B. course at their respective institutions.
Team Composition
- Each team must consist of two speakers and one researcher.
- A team may participate with only two members (both as speakers), but no team can have more than three members.
- Once the team composition is registered, it cannot be altered under any circumstances.
- Team codes will be assigned upon registration and must be used for all correspondence and submissions.

No registration fee is required for participation.

- Teams will receive a team code upon final registration, which must be used in all future submissions and correspondence.

The competition will be conducted offline at Law Centre-I, Faculty of Law, University of Delhi on April 25-26, 2025.

Prizes & Awards
The winners will receive cash prizes along with certificates of excellence. Awards will be given for:
