About NLU Delhi
Established in 2008, the National Law University, Delhi (NLUD) is a premier, elite law school in India, consistently ranked 2nd nationally by NIRF. Located in Dwarka, it offers specialized 5-year BALLB, LLM, and PhD programs, focusing on interdisciplinary legal education, research, and ethics. It is noted for high-impact legal research, 29 research centers, and a fully residential campus.
The Centre for Transparency and Accountability in Governance (CTAG) is an academic and research-oriented body committed to promoting transparency, accountability, and good governance. It engages in interdisciplinary discussions and initiatives to address contemporary legal and policy challenges.
About the Event
CTAG is organising a paper presentation competition on the occasion of International Labour Day, 1 May 2026. The event seeks to engage with the evolving landscape of labour rights and governance by focusing on contemporary challenges and transformations in labour law, policy, and practice. In line with this year’s Labour Day theme, “Healthy Psychosocial Working Environments,” the competition encourages reflections on mental well-being at the workplace, workload management, and the impact of digital tools in shaping modern employment conditions, while also highlighting workers’ rights, social justice, and women’s empowerment.
Eligibility
Submissions are invited from students, research scholars, and academicians.
Theme
“Labour in Transition: Contemporary Challenges and Transformations”
Indicative sub-themes include (but are not limited to):
- Gig and platform economy
- Labour Codes and recent reforms in India
- Informal sector and social security
- Artificial Intelligence, automation, and labour displacement
- Gender and labour rights
- Migrant labour and interstate disparities
- Trade unions in the digital era
- Workplace surveillance, data protection, and privacy
- Globalisation and labour standards
Prizes
- First Prize: ₹5,000
- Second Prize: ₹3,000
- Third Prize: ₹2,000
The top three authors will be invited to present their papers and will be featured in the May edition of MTAG. They will also present their papers during the webinar on 1 May 2026. Results will be declared during the webinar.

Selection Guidelines
Submissions will be evaluated on originality, relevance to the theme, clarity of arguments, structure, and overall quality of research and analysis. Any use of AI-generated content is strictly prohibited.
Submission Guidelines
- Word Limit: 2000–4000 words (exclusive of footnotes)
- The submission must be original and unpublished
- A 50-word abstract is mandatory
- The first page must include: title, author name(s), institutional affiliation, contact details, and abstract
- File format: .doc or .docx
