Dharmashastra National Law University, Jabalpur (DNLU), was established in 2018 by the Madhya Pradesh Dharmashastra National Law University Act. DNLU is recognised by the University Grants Commission (UGC) and the Bar Council of India (BCI). As a premier national law university, it aims to foster excellence in legal education, research, and policy engagement.
About CLE
The Centre for Law & Economics (CLE) at DNLU Jabalpur was founded with the objective of advancing interdisciplinary research in law and economics. The Centre provides a platform for academicians, students, and practitioners to explore the impact of economic principles on legal and regulatory frameworks. CLE actively promotes academic discourse on themes such as competition, market regulation, corporate governance, trade, labour, finance, and emerging challenges like climate change and technology law.
About the Blog
The CLE Blog is a student-run initiative under the Centre for Law & Economics at DNLU Jabalpur. It seeks to publish high-quality, accessible, and analytical pieces on contemporary issues at the intersection of law, economics, and public policy. The Blog is designed to encourage informed debates and fresh perspectives, while providing contributors a platform to engage with cutting-edge legal and economic discourse.
Theme
Submissions are invited on topics related to Law and Economics. Illustrative areas include:
- Competition and market regulation
- Trade and investment law
- Judicial decision-making
- Finance and corporate governance
- Labour and social policy
- Climate change and sustainability
- Technology law and the digital economy
Submission Guidelines
- Word Limit: 1,200–1,500 words (flexibility may be permitted at the discretion of the Editorial Board).
- Formatting: Times New Roman, Font Size 12, Line Spacing 1.5, Margins: Normal.
- Referencing: Hyperlinks should be provided for sources. Where links are not available, references must be provided as endnotes (Bluebook 21st edition). Footnoting is not permitted.
- Authorship: Co-authorship is permitted up to a maximum of two authors.
- File Format: Submissions must be in .doc or .docx format.
- Originality: Submissions must be original and unpublished. A similarity index of not more than 15% will be permitted (checked through Turnitin).
- Responsibility: Authors are solely responsible for the accuracy of facts, arguments, and views expressed.
- Copyright: Copyright of all published blogs shall vest with the Centre for Law & Economics.
- Submissions not conforming to these guidelines are liable to rejection.
Review Process
Each submission undergoes a three-stage review process:
- Plagiarism & AI Check: Ensuring originality and authenticity of the work.
- Clarity Review: Evaluating the language, coherence, and logical flow of arguments.
- Substantive Review: Assessing the legal and economic accuracy, analytical depth, and relevance of the piece.
Only manuscripts meeting all three standards will be accepted for publication.
