About the Book

The Weight of Choice: Consumers, Competition and the Contours of Protection examines contemporary consumer protection through its intersections with competition law, contract law, environmental regulation, insurance, real estate law, and digital markets.

The edited volume seeks to examine consumer protection not as a settled doctrine, but as a discipline continuing to evolve in response to changing markets, regulatory overlaps, technological developments, and the experiences of consumers who may fall outside traditional assumptions of consumer law. Original and unpublished contributions are invited that critically examine these contours and propose more accountable and inclusive approaches to consumer protection.

Eligibility

Submissions are invited from:

  1. Academicians and faculty members
  2. Legal practitioners and policy professionals
  3. Research scholars and doctoral candidates
  4. Undergraduate and postgraduate students from recognised universities and institutions

Interdisciplinary contributions from fields such as law, economics, public policy, business, and technology are also encouraged, provided they engage with issues relating to consumer protection, market regulation, or consumer rights.
