About Organisation

The SMVEC Centre of Legal Education is one of the initiatives of Sri Manakula Vinayagar Trust, Puducherry. It is approved by the Bar Council of India (BCI) & Government of Puducherry and affiliated to Pondicherry University. It is the best private Law School established in Puducherry to pioneer Legal Education reforms. The SMVEC Centre of Legal Education at present offers three under graduate programmes, i.e., B.A.LL.B., B.B.A.LL.B., (5 years) and LL.B. (3 years).

The programmes of Centre of Legal Education aims to provide students with a comprehensive and interdisciplinary Legal Education. About the Opportunity

SMVEC Centre of Legal Education with an objective to raise the standards of Clinical Legal Education in India regularly hosts Seminars, Moot Court Competitions and encourages law students to participate in various events and competitions across the Nation. Numerous outreach programs are being conducted as a social initiative that helps the students to understand the implications of the legal measures.

Theme

The SMVEC National Women’s Moot Court Competition 2026 focusing on constitutional law issues including disqualification of legislators, President’s Rule, and the validity of Article 164(4A).

Eligibility

Participation is restricted to bonafide female undergraduate students of 5 year integrated programme/ 3 year regular Law programme of any University/College/Institution recognized by the Bar Council of India.

Registration Fee

The teams desiring to participate in the competition must make a registration fee payment of Rs. 3,000/- while filling the google form.

Important Dates

1. Last date for Registration via Google Form – 31st January, 2026 [Date Extended from 21st Jan]
2. Last date for sending the Hard Copy of Registration Form along with payment of Registration Fee details – 31st January 2026.
3. Last date to seek clarification – 31st January 2026.
4. Submission of Hard Copy 3 Nos for petitioner/Appellant and 3 Nos for Respondent Memorials – 28th February, 2026

1. The teams desiring to participate in the competition must fill out the Google registration form before 20-01-2026 through the link.
2. The registering team should upload the filled in scanned copy of Registration Form and scanned copy/screen shot of the registration fee payment of Rs. 3,000/- while filling the google form.
3. Any request for refund of registration fee will not be entertained under any circumstances.
4. The competition is restricted to the maximum number of 36 teams.
5. The teams are strongly encouraged to complete the registration process well in advance (before 20.01.2026) to secure their places in the competition.
6. The payment of registration fee shall be made through the online payment gateway to the given account.
7. Google Registration Form received after the deadline (20.01.2026) shall not be considered for registration.
8. Hard copy of the Registration Form should be sent (post/courier) on or before 24.01.2026.
