No Selfies, No Reels: SC Imposes Strict Ban Inside Restricted Premises

The Supreme Court has strictly prohibited photography and videography inside its high-security zone, cautioning that violators will face stern action.
In a circular issued on Friday, the Court’s Secretary General stated that the ban applies to all lawyers, litigants, interns, law clerks, staff, and visitors, with exceptions made only for official purposes.
The order clarifies that cameras, tripods, selfie sticks, and even mobile phones cannot be used to make videos, reels, or take selfies within the restricted area. The restriction also covers the lawn area that falls inside the high-security zone.
Media professionals have been instructed to conduct interviews and live broadcasts only from the designated lawn located in the low-security zone. If reporters breach this rule, their access to the high-security zone will be suspended for one month.
Lawyers, interns, or clerks violating the order will be reported to their respective Bar Associations or State Bar Councils for disciplinary measures. Registry staff will face strict internal action, while other stakeholders will be referred to their departmental heads.
The circular also authorises security personnel to stop anyone attempting to take photographs or record videos within the restricted area.
