Kerala High Court to Begin WhatsApp Updates for Lawyers and Litigants from October 6

The Kerala High Court will soon begin using WhatsApp as part of its Case Management System (CMS) to send important updates to lawyers and litigants. The service will be launched on October 6, 2025, and will gradually be rolled out in phases.
Through this system, details regarding e-filing defects, case listings, proceedings, and other relevant updates will be shared via WhatsApp. However, the High Court has clarified that this facility will only serve as an additional mode of communication. Official notices, summons, and other legal processes will continue to be issued through the usual channels, unless specifically notified.
A notice issued by the Court also makes it clear that advocates and litigants cannot rely on non-delivery or delay of WhatsApp messages as a reason for absence. They are expected to verify such information through the official court website.
All official WhatsApp messages from the Kerala High Court will be sent only from the verified sender ID: The High Court of Kerala.
The facility will work on both primary and secondary mobile numbers registered in the CMS. While primary numbers can be changed by submitting a request through email, the secondary number can be updated directly through the Advocate Portal on the High Court CMS website (https://ecourt.keralacourts.in/digicourt/).
