About the Job
IIFL Home Finance Ltd is hiring a Legal Officer – Litigation & Dispute Resolution to manage complex litigation portfolios, coordinate with external counsel, and support legal strategy in a dynamic financial services environment.
The role involves handling litigation and dispute resolution matters across multiple judicial and quasi-judicial forums while providing legal support to various business functions.
Eligibility
- 1–3 years of post-qualification experience in litigation, dispute resolution, or legal advisory roles
- Exposure to civil, commercial, consumer, and banking/financial services litigation
- Experience in reviewing pleadings and coordinating with advocates across multiple jurisdictions
- Excellent drafting, analytical, and stakeholder management skills
- Prior exposure to NBFC, HFC, banking, or financial services litigation will be an advantage
Responsibilities
- Oversee litigation and dispute resolution matters across judicial and quasi-judicial forums, including DRTs, Civil Courts, Consumer Commissions, and High Courts
- Review and vet pleadings, written statements, appeals, revisions, affidavits, applications, and other court filings to ensure legal and factual accuracy
- Develop case strategies in consultation with panel advocates and internal stakeholders
- Ensure timely and effective representation of the company’s interests
- Evaluate legal risks arising from ongoing and prospective disputes and provide practical recommendations to business teams
- Manage legal notices, customer disputes, regulatory communications, and escalated grievance matters
- Track litigation progress, maintain reporting mechanisms, and present key updates to management
- Collaborate with business, operations, collections, and compliance teams on dispute management and risk mitigation initiatives
