About KILPAR

The Karnataka Institute of Law and Parliamentary Reform was established in the year 2005, as an initiative of the Department of Law, Justice and Human Rights and Legislation, Government of Karnataka. It is an autonomous institution registered under the Karnataka Society’s Registration Act, 1960.

About SCL

Soundarya College of Law (SCL) is one of the premier institutions of Soundarya Educational Trust (R) started in 2017. From the day of its inception, SCL has been imparting quality legal education to the students to cater the demands of the profession, industry, academics and research. SCL gives importance not only to curricular activities but also to co-curricular activities including sports which is necessary for the holistic development of a student, to meet the challenges of the present competitive globalized world. The college is affiliated to Karnataka State Law University, Hubballi and offers 3 Year LL.B and 5 Year B.A.LL.B & B.Com.LL.B Courses.

About the Conference

The object is to generate scholarly literature that will add to existing legal knowledge and usher in enacting new legislations and bring about law reforms. In this direction, Karnataka Institute of Law and Parliamentary Reform (KILPAR) and Soundarya College of Law, Bengaluru are jointly organising a one-day conference on the topic “Protection of Children in the Digital World” scheduled to take place on 22nd April, 2025.

This conference aims to bring together academicians, law professionals, research scholars, and law students to engage in high-quality discussions focused on the intersection of children’s rights and cybercrime. With the increasing digital presence of children and their growing vulnerability to online threats, this conference will serve as a platform to explore legislative policies, legal frameworks, and strategies to safeguard children in the digital realm. We invite submissions of papers that contribute to scholarly literature, address emerging challenges, and propose effective solutions for protecting children online.

Participants are encouraged to submit papers on the following suggested topics, or any other topic that aligns with the broader theme of the conference:

  • Abstract Submission Deadline: 30th March, 2025
  • Acceptance Notification: 03rd April, 2025
  • Last Date of Registration for Participation: 05th April, 2025
  • Complete Paper Submission Deadline: 17th April, 2025

Submission Guidelines

  • Word Limit for Full Paper: 3,000 – 4,000 words
  • Abstract: 250 – 300 words.
  • Authorship: Submissions are invited from students, academicians, research scholars and practitioners of law. Co-authorship up to a maximum of two authors is permitted.
  • Citation Style: All footnotes/references must conform to the Bluebook (20th/21st Edition).

Formatting Guidelines

  • The body of the manuscript should be in Times New Roman, Font Size 12, and 1.5-line spacing.
  • The footnotes should be in Times New Roman, Font Size 10, and single line spacing.
  • Submissions must be original, unpublished, and not under review elsewhere.
  • Manuscripts must adhere to high academic standards, be free from plagiarism, and written in clear, error-free English.
  • Submit abstracts in .doc format only. PDF submissions will not be entertained.
  • To maintain anonymity, authors’ names or affiliations must not appear in the manuscript.
  • A separate cover letter with the author(s)’ details (name, email, contact number, title, and institution) must accompany submissions made via email. Submit Abstract and Full Paper via email to [email protected]

Registration

There is no registration fee.

Registration is required to be done only after the Acceptance of Abstract.
