About the Session

This session seeks to explore the relevance and necessity of International Labour Standards (ILS) in a world where most countries already have national labour laws in place. While national laws are essential for addressing domestic labour issues, they often vary widely in scope, enforcement, and protection levels. International Labour Standards, developed primarily through the International Labour Organization (ILO), serve as a universal benchmark to ensure that basic rights at work are upheld globally, regardless of a country’s specific legal or economic framework.

He is a Professor at Kutafin Moscow State Law University, Moscow, Russia, and an Associate with Maqsut Narikbayev KAZGUU University, where he is also a member of the Steering Committee.
