About the Opportunity

The Office of the Controller General of Patents, Designs and Trade Marks (CGPDTM), under the Department for Promotion of Industry and Internal Trade (DPIIT), Ministry of Commerce and Industry, Government of India, invites applications for its Intellectual Property Rights (IPR) Internship Program.

This initiative is aligned with the National IPR Policy of India, aiming to build IP awareness, promote research, and strengthen human capital in the field of Intellectual Property.

Eligibility Criteria

(a)Students enrolled in undergraduate/postgraduate programs in Law, Science, Engineering, or related fields

(b) Research Scholars with interest in IPR

(c)Young professionals seeking exposure to IPR frameworks

Internship Duration

45 days to 12 months (depending on availability and discretion of the CGPDTM)

(1) Short term duration : 45 days

(2) Mid term duration : up to 6 months

(3) Long duration : up to 12 months.

Location

Intellectual Property Offices located in Mumbai, Delhi, Kolkata, Chennai, Ahmedabad and Nagpur.

Objectives of the Internship

(a)To provide practical exposure to IP administration

(b) To enhance understanding of IP laws, rules, and procedures

(c) To promote research in IPR in line with national policy objectives

Last Date to Apply

Internship will be open throughout the year however selection will be based on the availability and discretion of the CGPDTM
