About Deccan Education Society
The DECCAN EDUCATION SOCIETY was formed under the guidance and leadership of various national leaders, visionaries, and contributors namely Lokmanya Shri. Bal Gangadhar Tilak , Shri Gopal Ganesh Agarkar, Shri Vishnushastri Chiplunkar, Shri Mahadev Ballal Namjoshi & Shri Vamanrao Apte. Envisioning the importance of education these “Makers of Modern India” came up with the idea of The Deccan Education Society to strengthen the roots of Indian tradition pre-independence.
Established in the year 2004, this year marks two decades of excellence in inculcating legal didactics under the eminent framework of the Deccan Education Society. We believe in education as the way of revolution as well as the overall development of mankind. In order to shape young minds into legal professionals and luminaries, our college has established various Cells and Departments.
About Seminar Department
The Seminar & Workshop department being an integral part of the Institution, regularly organizes International and National seminars, webinars, and workshops by inviting eminent guest speakers as well as hosts Intra–college teacher–student symposia on a variety of topics that build knowledge base of our students. It provides a focal point of multidisciplinary avenues in various perspectives of socio-economic, political & legal arenas. We have hosted seminars on contemporary topics like Reservation Policy in India, Data Privacy, Agricultural Laws, Nuclear Power, Gender Sensitization (LGBTQIA), Labour Laws, Environmental Sustainability, etc.
About Legal Research Cell
Legal Research Cell of DES SNFLC has been conducting various competitions with an aim to provide high quality education for inculcating research culture and nation building. The objective is to equip students with refined Research skills and analytical acumen, fostering a profound appreciation for evolving juristic trends and cultivating critical thought processes. It aims to imbue both faculty and students with a culture of research, promoting an environment where scholarly inquiry thrives.
About Themisia
‘Themisia’ – our Institute’s prestigious event is held annually to promote academic discussion on significant themes. Each year, participants present research papers on selected themes, thus dwelling on the intricacies of the topic. Previous editions of Themisia revolved around themes like Environmental law, climate change and sustainable development, and Reservation Policies. This year, our nation is celebrating 75 years of the Constitution. Hence, through this event, which comprises an InternationalSeminar, Judgement Analysis competition, and a captivating legal quiz, participants are encouraged to reflect on the Constitution’s journey and development along with challenges and way forward. For the successive 3rd year, Themisia continues to be a platform for sharing knowledge, fostering growth, and inspiring meaningful dialogue amongst the stakeholders.
The 1st edition of Themisia was launched in April 2023, which delved into the intricacies of ‘Reservation Policy in India’.”Reservation”: The feature especially incorporated to safeguard the interests of the weaker sections of the society and abridge the gaps prevalent in the Indian society in order to promote fraternity and ensure dignity amongst individuals, was discussed thoroughly which enlightened stakeholders with nuances of the topic.
Themisia 2.0, held in March 2024, aimed to address pressing issues on climate change and sustainable development and provided a platform to discuss international environmental laws, raise awareness, inspireinnovative solutions, and devise monitoring mechanisms for climate initiatives, thus contributing to environmental awareness. The event was conducted in collaboration with the State Climate Action Cell, Govt. of Maharashtra, and was graced by the auspicious presence of Hon’ble Justice Abhay Oka, Judge, Supreme Court of India.

- Mode of Organizing: The seminar is organized offline.
- Date of the Seminar : 7th & 8th February, 2025
- Abstract: Participants must submit Abstracts of 350-500 words and mail it to [email protected] on or before 16th January 2025.
- Method of Citation: Harvard Blue Book 20th Ed. Submission of

- The acceptance will be communicated on 19th January ,2025.

- Selected Full Papers will be published in proceedings with ISBN.
