As a result, in 2023, the Digital Personal Data Protection Act was finally passed, which is designed to protect the privacy and security of Indian online users.

Data Protection is very important for Indians and they should understand the DPDP act which explains their rights in regards to consent, data access, and what information users are obligated to provide under this law. There are several ways the users can protect their sensitive information.

Users should always be wary of untrustworthy software or websites. If in doubt, do not use these websites or software, as they could be designed to harvest sensitive information without the user being aware that their information is being stolen.
