About Civis

At Civic Innovation Foundation, they work to enable effective dialogue between Governments and citizens, on laws and policies. Through their online platform Civis, they help citizens share their inputs on upcoming laws with the Government.

Since 2018, Civis has worked on 300+ Consultations, impacting over 16,600 people. Civis has been a recipient of the Forbes 30 Under 30 Asia award, Agami Prize for Legal Innovation, D-Prize, and two state government awards at the Maharashtra StartUp Summit and Vibrant Gujarat StartUp Summit.  

About the Internship

Civis is inviting applications for the next cohort of their Policy Leaders Internship Programme. This internship involves hands-on training on the public consultation process and an entry-way into understanding public policy in India.

Eligibility

Students of law and public policy, in their 3rd year or above, are encouraged to apply. 

Responsibilities

• Summarising draft laws and policies that are open for consultations and public feedback for citizen understanding.
• Conducting detailed research on the content and background of the upcoming laws and policies open for consultation.
• Getting an opportunity to publish articles and policy analysis on draft policies on Civis’ blog as well as other publications.
• Hands-on training on public consultations and civic participation in law-making.
• An understanding of public policy.

Duration

The internship will be for a minimum duration of 12 weeks in the months of July – September and may be extended at the request of the intern, only after approval of the internship coordinator.

Mode of Internship

The internship would function on a remote working policy.
