About V.R Krishnan Ezhuthachan Law College

V.R Krishnan Ezhuthachan Law College, Elavanchery, Palakkad started functioning on 08.10.2014, with the motto, ‘At the top, beyond the border’. It is the first Law College in the Palakkad District and is affiliated to the University of Calicut. The first batch of the Law college graduated in the academic year of January, 2020.

The new college building was inaugurated by Sri.Pinarayi Vijiyan, the hounorable Chief Minister of Kerala, and in the esteemed presence of Shri K T Jalil, Minister for Higher Education, Kerala and other dignatories on the 21st Oct 2019 and the affiliation of the college was approved by the Bar Council of India. V.R. Krishnan Ezhuthachan Law College fulfills a very important objective of legal education, which is the promotion of a society based legal education.

About 1st All India Moot court Competition

Moot court is one of the most effective method to bridge the theoretical and practical aspects in legal education. From July 5th to 12th July 2025, V. R Krishnan Ezhuthachan Law College will honourably host its 1st All India Moot Court competition, 2025 in a hybrid mode – Online & Offline. This occasion will mark a remarkable milestone of our esteemed institution.

Moot competitions enable students to develop their legal skills and make significant contributions to the society. This competition endeavors to give an unmatched experience to young legal aspirants to sharpen their skill of research, mooting and advocacy. The moot proposition of the competition revolves around current legal issues and related Laws, which will be judged by an eminent panel of legal professionals, academicians and members of the judiciary. Your Active participation not only enhance your skill but also contribute to legal education.

Eligibility

• Participation is strictly restricted to undergraduate law students pursuing three years or five years LL.B. degree program from the Institution/University recognized by the Bar Council of India.
• Each Institution can send TWO teams respectively.
• The team shall comprises a maximum of three (Two designated speakers and one as researcher) and a minimum of two (One of the speakers shall be the researcher, in such case the participating team must mention the same during the registration).

Registration Fee

• Registration for the competition will be in two stages
• Provisional Registration fees: Rs.1500 per team.
• Final Registration Fee : Teams whose memorials are selected for the preliminary rounds must pay a final registration fee of Rs.2500 per team.

Prizes

• WINNER : A Trophy, Certificate of Merit and a Cash Prize of Rs. 50,000 /-
• RUNNER UP TEAM: A Trophy, Certificate and a Cash Prize of Rs.30,000 /-
• BEST SPEAKER: A Trophy, Certificate of Merit and a Cash Prize of Rs. 10,000/-
• BEST MEMORIAL: A Trophy, Certificate and a Cash Prize of Rs. 5,000/-
• BEST RESEARCHER: A Trophy, Certificate and a Cash Prize of Rs. 5,000 /-

Important Dates

• Deadline for Registration: 16th June, 2025
• Submission of Soft Copy Memorials: 25th June, 2025
• Preliminary round : 7th and 8th July, 2025
• Quarter Final : 9th July, 2025
• Semi Final and Finals : 12th July 2025
