About the Job

Aditya Birla Group is hiring a Vertical Manager – Against Cases (Litigation). The role involves leading the management of civil, criminal, consumer, and regulatory matters where the organisation is a defendant or respondent. The selected candidate will oversee litigation strategy, coordinate with external counsel and internal stakeholders, ensure regulatory compliance, and safeguard the organisation’s legal and financial interests.

Eligibility

Candidates should possess:

• Strong litigation management and legal research skills.
• Experience in handling litigation before multiple judicial and regulatory forums.
• Excellent drafting, analytical, and stakeholder management abilities.
• Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple matters under strict timelines.
• Experience in managing external counsel and legal vendors.
• Knowledge of litigation compliance, documentation, and MIS reporting.

Responsibilities

The selected candidate will:

• Manage litigation matters across civil, criminal, consumer, and regulatory forums.
• Develop and implement litigation strategies to achieve favourable outcomes.
• Conduct legal research and evaluate legal opinions.
• Draft customer notices relating to recoveries, defaults, lapses, and covenant breaches.
• Respond to notices issued by customers, statutory authorities, and regulatory bodies, including RBI, ED, EOW, SEBI, Income Tax authorities, and the Police.
• Handle proceedings under Section 138, prepare statutory notices and complaints, facilitate evidence, and attend hearings.
• Manage security enforcement relating to mortgages, pledges, and other securities.
• Defend legal proceedings initiated against the organisation.
• Appoint, brief, and coordinate with external counsel and law firms.
• Prepare and maintain litigation MIS for review by the Litigation Head.
• Ensure compliance with litigation policies, guidelines, and standard operating procedures.
• Develop litigation knowledge management processes and strengthen in-house litigation capabilities.
• Conduct performance reviews, mentor team members, and support stakeholder awareness of legal requirements.
