About the Job

Goldman Sachs is seeking an Analyst to join the Regulatory Uplift function within the Policy, Documentation & Outreach Group (PDO) under the Global Banking & Markets Division. The role involves supporting the review and analysis of client trading documentation, enhancing risk management processes, ensuring accurate data capture, and contributing to the development of systems and processes that strengthen regulatory compliance and governance.

The selected candidate will work closely with trading documentation professionals, risk teams, negotiators, leadership, and engineering teams across global business areas to support the firm’s trading and counterparty risk management framework.

Eligibility

• Bachelor’s degree, equivalent qualification, or Juris Doctor (JD).
• Prior experience in a Legal or Trading Documentation role, including experience within Credit, Risk, or Treasury functions, is preferred.
• Attorney or paralegal experience is desirable.
• Working knowledge of derivatives, financial products, and trading documentation such as ISDA, CSA, GMRA, and GMSLA is preferred.
• Strong organisational, prioritisation, and attention-to-detail skills.
• Ability to maintain consistency across documentation and appropriately escalate issues when required.
• Strong commercial understanding of derivatives, repo, securities lending markets, prime brokerage products, and related services.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office and the ability to work with various databases and systems.
• Sound analytical and problem-solving abilities.
• Excellent communication, interpersonal, and teamwork skills.
• Ability to present data-driven insights and explain technical concepts to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
• Willingness to learn, adapt, and take ownership of responsibilities.
• Interest in developing documentation and negotiation-related expertise.
• Ability to supervise and guide junior team members where required.

Responsibilities

• Review and analyse client trading documentation and extract key data points in accordance with the firm’s risk governance framework.
• Support risk management for new and existing client relationships through accurate documentation analysis and data capture.
• Develop and enhance processes aimed at improving transparency, governance, and counterparty risk identification.
• Track, record, and report data extraction outcomes and operational efficiencies to senior management.
• Manage queries and collaborate with stakeholders across regions and functions.
• Support the implementation of global training programmes and monitor relevant KPIs.
• Identify emerging themes and recommend updates to documentation playbooks for review and approval.
• Partner with internal engineering teams to develop systems that integrate contractual margin and credit terms into risk and operational platforms.
• Work closely with risk teams and documentation negotiators to evaluate and improve existing frameworks in response to regulatory, legal, and industry developments.
