Deloitte Touche Tohmatsu India LLP is hiring a Consultant (Risk Management) to support clients in developing and implementing data protection and privacy compliance frameworks. The role involves advising clients on privacy laws, conducting risk assessments, developing governance frameworks, and supporting compliance initiatives.

Eligibility

• Bachelor’s degree in:
  • Law
  • Information Technology
  • Related Field
• Preferred certifications:
  • CIPT
  • CIPM
  • CIPPE
  • Other relevant privacy or data protection certifications
• Minimum 2 years of experience in data protection or privacy compliance.
• Strong understanding of data protection laws and regulations, particularly those applicable in India.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

Data Protection & Privacy Compliance

• Develop data protection policies and procedures in accordance with applicable privacy laws and regulations.
• Monitor and evaluate data processing activities to ensure compliance with legal and regulatory requirements.
• Develop records of processing activities and compliance documentation.

Risk Assessment & Governance

• Conduct privacy and data protection risk assessments.
• Identify potential privacy risks and develop mitigation strategies.
• Support Data Protection Impact Assessments (DPIAs) and privacy impact assessments.
• Assist clients in implementing data governance frameworks.

Privacy Framework Development

• Design and build privacy and security frameworks.
• Re-design processes and privacy controls to strengthen compliance mechanisms.
• Define privacy metrics, dashboards, and reporting mechanisms.

Advisory & Stakeholder Support

• Provide guidance to clients on privacy compliance and governance requirements.
• Collaborate with internal teams and stakeholders to promote awareness of privacy practices.
• Participate in discussions regarding privacy recommendations and solutions.

Privacy Technology Implementation

• Support implementation of privacy management tools, including:
  • Consent and Preference Management
  • Data Subject Rights Management
  • Other privacy technology modules

Research & Knowledge Development

• Track global developments in data protection laws and regulations.
• Update policies and procedures based on evolving regulatory requirements.
• Contribute to proposals, whitepapers, strategic documents, and thought leadership initiatives.
• Support knowledge-sharing and best practices across teams and regions.
