About Directorate General of Foreign Trade

Directorate General of Foreign Trade (DGFT) is an attached office of the Ministry of Commerce and Industry and is headed by the Director General of Foreign Trade. DGFT is responsible for formulation and implementation of the Foreign Trade Policy with the main objective of promoting exports of the country. This Directorate also issues scrips/authorizations to exporters and monitors their corresponding obligations through a network of regional offices.

About the Job

The Office of the Additional Director General of Foreign Trade (CLA) is seeking applications for 6 Young Professional positions, primarily in Law/Legal and related fields. The engagement is contractual and initially for one year.

Eligibility

• Age should be below 35 years as on the closing date.
• Qualification from a recognised university.
• Law: Master’s Degree in Law / LL.B.
• Economics: Master’s Degree in Economics.
• Management / Business Administration: MBA.
• Engineering: B.Tech / B.E. in Mechanical, Chemical, Information Technology, or Computer Science, or MCA.
• Commerce: Master’s Degree in Commerce.
• For the Law/Legal position, a PG Diploma in a legal subject is advantageous.

Key Skills & Competencies

• Proficiency in MS Office applications, including MS Word, MS Excel, and MS PowerPoint.
• Good presentation, communication, and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to comprehend, analyse, and interpret policy documents, government notifications, reports, and data.
• Experience in research, report writing, and preparing presentations.
• Knowledge and effective use of AI tools and digital productivity tools.
• Knowledge of Foreign Trade Policy, export promotion schemes, and international trade-related matters will be an added advantage.

Remuneration

₹60,000 per month on a consolidated fee basis, with applicable PF/TDS.

Duration

The engagement is initially for 1 year and is contractual, with extension based on performance and requirements.

Additional Information

• Leave entitlement is 1.5 days per completed month, subject to approval.
• Working hours are 10:00 AM to 6:00 PM on working days. Work beyond office hours, including weekends and holidays, may be required.
• The engagement is subject to verification of educational qualifications, experience, police verification, and medical fitness.
• Adverse conduct, misinformation, or unsatisfactory performance may lead to termination without notice.
• No other allowances and monetary benefits will be applicable.
