About the Job
WSP is hiring for the position of Senior Consultant – Legal to provide operational and legal support to its Asia Legal Division.
The role primarily involves reviewing and negotiating construction industry contracts for a global engineering professional services company.
Eligibility
- Qualified lawyer with a law degree.
- Minimum 6+ years of relevant legal experience.
- Experience gained at a reputable law firm or in an in-house legal team specialising in construction law.
- Experience working with multinational construction industry companies is preferred.
- Proficiency in written and spoken English.
- Experience in negotiating complex commercial agreements.
- Excellent communication skills.
- Ability to balance commercial and operational requirements with legal risks.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Exposure to Asia-based clients is desirable.
Responsibilities
- Review a full range of contracts and associated documents.
- Provide clear and concise feedback on contractual risks.
- Conduct follow-up calls with colleagues to discuss contractual matters, wherever required, in a timely manner.
- Proactively manage and lead negotiations.
- Establish and maintain professional relationships with internal business teams and external parties, including clients and their legal counsel.
- Maintain awareness of the legislative and regulatory environment relating to key aspects of WSP’s current operations.
