About the Role

NLSIU is hiring 2 full-time Research Assistants for a project on “Patent Landscape of Cancer Drugs Relevant to India and its impact on Affordability and Accessibility.”

• 1 position: Biomedical background
• 1 position: Law (IPR/patents focus)

Responsibilities

• Conduct literature review and develop research plans
• Analyse cancer treatment accessibility and affordability in India
• Map patent landscape of relevant drugs
• Conduct interviews, surveys, and case studies
• Prepare reports, publications, and policy outputs
• Organise workshops and assist in research activities
• Publish at least two short-form research pieces annually

Eligibility

• Graduate degree in biomedical field / MBBS or Law degree
• Preference for MSc/LLM candidates
• Specialisation in patents or IP preferred
• Experience in research, patent search, or data analysis desirable
• Interest in empirical research and fieldwork

Duration

1 year (extendable based on performance)

Compensation

₹47,000 – ₹67,000 per month (based on qualifications)
