Responsibilities
Drafting, Review and Negotiation of Contracts
- Draft, redline, review, negotiate, and close commercial agreements, including NDAs, MoUs, vendor contracts, service agreements, EPC contracts, lease deeds, and joint venture agreements.
- Provide legal input during tender/bid preparation and contract finalisation.
- Interpret complex contract clauses and advise business teams on contractual rights, obligations, and liabilities.
- Identify contractual risks and provide mitigation strategies.
- Ensure contracts comply with legal requirements and protect the company’s interests.
Legal Compliance and Risk Management
- Ensure company-wide compliance with relevant statutory laws, including labour laws, the Companies Act, Contract Act, and environmental laws.
- Maintain legal risk registers and proactively highlight high-risk matters to management.
- Monitor and update changes in laws and regulations affecting business operations.
Litigation Management
- Coordinate with external legal counsel for civil, criminal, arbitration, and statutory cases.
- Handle pre-litigation notices, consumer complaints, and other dispute matters.
- Maintain litigation MIS and track case progress to ensure timely closure.
Stakeholder Coordination and Reporting
Explore the latest legal opportunities for law students and lawyers.
- Collaborate with Operations, Finance, Procurement, HR, Projects, and Business Development teams.
- Report updates, risks, and key legal issues to senior management.
Legal Advisory
- Provide strategic legal advice to the executive team and other departments on matters including environmental regulations, corporate governance, contracts, intellectual property, and labour laws.
Regulatory Compliance
- Monitor and ensure compliance with local, state, and federal environmental laws and regulations.
- Advise on the implications of new regulations and work with relevant teams to implement necessary changes.
Corporate Governance
- Assist with corporate governance matters.
- Prepare board materials and corporate filings.
- Manage corporate records.
Labour and Employment Law
- Advise on employment matters, including employee contracts, disputes, labour law compliance, and company policies.
Mergers and Acquisitions
- Support the legal aspects of mergers, acquisitions, joint ventures, and other strategic business initiatives.
Policy Development
- Develop and implement internal policies and procedures to ensure legal compliance and support the company’s objectives.
Training and Education
- Conduct training sessions for employees on legal issues, regulatory compliance, and corporate policies.
