About the Job
SES is hiring for the position of Legal Counsel. The role involves providing legal support across contracts, tenders, transactional matters, competition law, regulatory matters, and commercial projects.
Eligibility
- Master’s degree or LLM in Law.
- Bar qualification would be an advantage.
- 3 to 5 years of post-qualification experience in a law firm or legal department of a company would be an advantage.
- Experience in the telecommunications/media sector would be an advantage.
- Computer literacy, including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
- Fluency in English, both oral and written, is mandatory.
Experience
Candidates with experience in legal practice within a law firm or a company’s legal department are preferred. Experience in the telecommunication/media sector would be an advantage.
Responsibilities
- Structure, draft, negotiate, and finalise contracts and responses to tenders while ensuring compliance with applicable national and international laws and regulations.
- Conduct legal research and draft memoranda across various legal fields, including competition law.
- Provide legal assistance to SES affiliates and subsidiaries as requested.
- Provide support and advice on legal matters across various functions, including transactional work.
- Provide timely and effective legal advice to commercial groups in relation to projects, contracts, initiatives, bids, and public/private partnership initiatives.
- Communicate succinctly, diplomatically, and credibly with stakeholders at all levels of the organisation.
- Build relationships across different levels and functions of the organisation.
- Present clear and credible information to internal and external audiences.
