About the Job

P&G is seeking an experienced Legal Counsel to join its legal team in Mumbai. The role involves providing legal advice across a broad range of commercial and regulatory matters, including advertising, competition, labour, industrial, environmental, and pharmaceutical laws. The selected candidate will work closely with business teams and leadership to support strategic initiatives, commercial transactions, compliance programs, intellectual property matters, and dispute management across the Indian subcontinent.

Eligibility

• LL.B. degree from a recognized institution.
• 3–7 years of experience with a reputed law firm or the legal department of a large multinational corporation.
• Experience in the pharmaceutical or FMCG sector will be preferred.
• Company Secretary qualification is preferred.
• Strong commercial contracting, leadership, and stakeholder management skills.
• Experience advising on marketing and advertising matters.
• Experience in dispute management and litigation oversight.
• Strong analytical, communication, and problem-solving abilities.
• Ability to work independently and provide strategic legal guidance.

Responsibilities

Commercial Contracting

• Draft, review, negotiate, and execute commercial contracts and business agreements.
• Support commercial business operations and business development initiatives through legal advisory and transaction support.

Regulatory and Compliance Advisory

• Advise on industry-specific laws and regulatory requirements.
• Ensure compliance with applicable legal and ethical standards.
• Implement and support policies, processes, and training programs relating to anti-bribery, competition law, and compliance frameworks.

Marketing and Advertising Support

• Advise business teams on marketing campaigns, advertising initiatives, product communications, and promotional activities.
• Review and support consumer-facing communications from a legal and regulatory perspective.

Intellectual Property and Business Development

• Support intellectual property-related matters.
• Assist in business development initiatives, including negotiations and transaction execution.

Stakeholder Management

• Collaborate with internal functions including Medical, Regulatory, Human Resources, Sales, Marketing, Distribution, Government Relations, and Research & Development.
• Work closely with the Government Relations team on matters involving government engagement and regulatory developments.

Dispute Management

• Manage disputes and legal proceedings across relevant forums.
• Coordinate and manage external legal counsel and service providers.

Strategic Advisory

• Advise on go-to-market strategies and business initiatives.
• Provide commercially focused legal solutions while maintaining high ethical standards and regulatory compliance.
