About the Opportunity

Finternet Labs is hiring a Legal Associate focused on contracts, compliance and legal operations. It is looking for high-agency professionals who take ownership and deliver outcomes with minimal instruction.

Eligibility

• LL.B. with 4+ years of post-qualification experience in a law firm or in-house team handling commercial contracts and compliance
• Demonstrated ownership of contract pipelines and compliance tasks in multi-stakeholder environments
• Clear, concise drafting and strong redlining instincts
• Process orientation with comfort using productivity tools and CLM or equivalent repositories
• High agency, bias for action, and comfort operating with minimal instruction

Responsibilities

• Draft, review, redline, and negotiate commercial agreements including NDAs, MOUs, SaaS and tooling agreements, advisory and service contracts, grant agreements, partnership agreements, and procurement documents
• Run the contract lifecycle end-to-end: templates, playbooks, version control, approvals, signatures, repository hygiene, and obligation tracking
• Build and maintain a compliance calendar across India, US, Singapore, and other active jurisdictions, coordinating filings, entity housekeeping, and policy rollouts in partnership with external counsel
• Implement lightweight processes and checklists for legal ops, including intake, triage, SLAs, and reporting to leadership
• Support general administration such as vendor onboarding, documentation workflows, and board or donor materials
• Work cross-functionally with engineering, partnerships, finance, and programs to translate business needs into clear, compliant paper
• Create simple guidance notes and one-page explainers for non-lawyers on recurring topics
