The Moot Court Society of KIIT School of Law is pleased to organise the II KIIT International Moot Court Competition, 2026, continuing its commitment to promoting excellence in legal research, advocacy, argumentation and dispute resolution.

The competition provides law students from across India and abroad with a platform to engage with complex contemporary legal questions, develop persuasive advocacy, and compete before distinguished arbitrators and members of the legal fraternity.
The total prize pool is of INR 3,90,000/-.
Theme
The moot proposition for the II KIIT International Moot Court Competition, 2026 is based on international commercial arbitration and documentary credits.
The dispute involves an ICC arbitration between the parties arising from a credit transaction governed by the Uniform Customs and Practice for Documentary Credits, 2007 Revision, ICC Publication No. 600 (UCP 600). The proposition raises complex questions concerning the jurisdiction of the arbitral tribunal, the applicability of the arbitration agreement to multiple parties, the incorporation and interpretation of UCP 600, and the obligations arising from documentary credits.

The proposition therefore offers participants an opportunity to engage with the intersection of international arbitration, banking law, documentary credits, sanctions and international commercial law.
Eligibility
The competition is open to students enrolled in a 3-year or 5-year law degree programme, or a comparable graduate programme in law, subject to the eligibility requirements prescribed in the Rules. Participants must represent a recognised and accredited institution where they are enrolled.
Each team may consist of a minimum of two members and a maximum of three members, comprising a maximum of two speakers and one researcher.
Registration Fee
The registration fee:
- INR 6,000 for National Teams
- USD 100 for International Teams
Registration must be completed by 7 September 2026 through the prescribed online registration form.

- Winning Team: INR 2,00,000/-
- Runners-up: INR 1,00,000/-
- Best Researcher: INR 30,000/-
- Best Speaker: INR 30,000/-
- Best Memorial: INR 30,000/-

- 20 August 2026: Release of Moot Problem, Brochure and commencement of registration
- 7 September 2026: Last date for registration
- 7 September 2026: Last date to seek clarifications
- 14 September 2026: Release of clarifications
- 4 October 2026: Last date for memorial submission
- 11 October 2026: Online Preliminary Rounds
- 14 November 2026: Researcher’s Test and Offline Advanced Rounds
The Preliminary Rounds will be conducted online, while the Quarter-Finals, Semi-Finals and Final Round will form part of the Offline Advanced Rounds.
