About the Job

Sun Pharma is seeking an Executive – Trademark & Litigation to join its India Business division. The role involves supporting trademark-related functions, including brand clearance, prosecution, registration, renewals, litigation, and domain name misuse matters. The selected candidate will work closely with the Head of Trademark and Lead Trademark in managing intellectual property protection and enforcement activities.

Eligibility

• Bachelor’s degree in Law, Intellectual Property, or a related field.
• Specialisation or knowledge in Trademark and Intellectual Property Rights (IPR).
• 4–5 years of experience in trademark law, brand protection, or intellectual property management.

Responsibilities

• Assist in developing and implementing trademark, copyright, and design-related strategies, policies, and procedures.
• Conduct trademark, copyright, and design searches and clearance activities to assess brand availability and infringement risks.
• Prepare and file trademark, copyright, and domain name applications while ensuring compliance with legal requirements.
• Monitor trademark, copyright, and design renewals and coordinate maintenance-related actions.
• Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders on trademark, copyright, design, and litigation matters.
• Assist in managing trademark disputes, court litigation, and domain name misuse cases while supporting enforcement measures.
• Participate in outdoor seizure operations involving misuse of brand logos and trademarks.
• Review and report violations of trademark regulations and procedural provisions to senior management.
• Coordinate communications received from marketing and other departments for timely processing.
• Support the achievement of departmental goals and priorities while ensuring effective resource utilisation.
• Assist in implementing trademark strategies, policies, and procedures aligned with organisational objectives.
• Escalate trademark violations requiring intervention from senior leadership.
• Guide team members on legal procedures and compliance requirements.

Skills Required

• Sound knowledge of trademark laws and regulations, copyright matters, and design protection.
• Proficiency in conducting trademark searches and managing trademark applications.
• Strong organisational and multitasking abilities.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams and stakeholders.
• Strong attention to detail with a focus on accuracy and compliance.
