Symbiosis Law School (SLS), Nagpur, is a constituent of Symbiosis International (Deemed University), Pune, established to provide contemporary and interdisciplinary legal education. The institution offers five-year integrated B.A. LL.B. and B.B.A. LL.B. programmes, along with an LL.M. programme. SLS Nagpur, is a premier institution of legal education, dedicated to developing globally competent, socially responsible, and ethically driven legal professionals who will thrive in an increasingly complex world.
About the Research and Publication Cell
Research and Publication Cell is the sole body in charge of bringing to campus the opportunities and people that are significant to the field of research. Research and Publication Cell aims to inculcate and nurture traits like probing and thinking, and skills like writing, organizing, data collection, and interpretation amongst the students. It provides a platform for students to showcase their skills in the form of articles, write-ups, and other creative modes.

About SymBlawg
SymBLawg is a publishing initiative and annual competition by the Research and Publication Cell at Symbiosis Law School, Nagpur, providing a platform to law students to engage with contemporary legal issues and evolving areas under law. It follows a thematic approach and allows students to research diverse legal aspects, with a unique theme in every edition. It has a two-fold objective.
It strives to acquaint its audience with legal opinions and analysis on contemporary issues of legal significance which reflect the perspective of budding legal professionals. Simultaneously, it serves as a platform for students to voice their opinions, showcase their analytical skills coupled with creativity, and gain recognition in and out of our institute.

Themes
SymBlaw 2026 edition offers two themes this year:

- Data Protection in the Age of Algorithms: Safeguarding Privacy in an AI-Driven World
This theme presents an opportunity to explore the challenges to individual autonomy, privacy, and behaviour after the rapid proliferation of artificial intelligence, including major concerns such as erasure of data and profiling.
- ESG and Carbon Credits: Regulating Environmental Impact in a Digitally Accelerated Economy
This theme allows examining environmental consequences faced due to the growth of artificial intelligence and allied technology, including major concerns such as the carbon footprint, resource exploitation, greenwashing of ESG claims, and carbon credits in the digital economy.
Guidelines
- The submission should align with either of the aforementioned themes.
- There is no strict word limit; however, we prefer posts of around 1300-1500 words. We recommend that content be original, well- structured, and diverse in presentation. This enhances readability and maintains a formal tone for professionalism and clarity.
- The submission must be in English only and must be in Microsoft Word Format (.doc/.docx). The Word file shall be saved using the title of the paper followed by the name of the author(s).
- Only one submission per author is permitted. Co-authorship is permitted to a maximum of two authors per submission.
- A maximum of 10% plagiarism shall be permitted. AI-generated content will not be accepted, and any compromise will lead to disqualification.
- Citations must strictly follow the Bluebook 21st Edition.
- Submissions should not contain offensive, abusive, derogatory, or potentially defamatory content.
- Every submission by the author will go through strict scrutiny, and the editorial board’s decision shall be final and binding
Awards
Authors whose submissions are accepted for publication will receive an e-certificate of publication as recognition of their contribution. All participants will be awarded an e-certificate of participation.
Publication
On publication, all literary and copyright rights to the submission are transferred to the Research & Publication Cell, Symbiosis Law School, Nagpur. Only ten selected blogs will be published on the official Symbiosis blog “SymBLawg”, providing students with a platform to share their perspectives and insights
