About the Job

Hirani & Associates is expanding its Media & Entertainment Law practice and is inviting applications for the position of Associate / Senior Associate at its Bandra West, Mumbai office.

This role is suited for legal professionals passionate about music, films, digital content, and the entertainment industry, with the ability to handle transactions independently and manage client relationships.

Eligibility & Requirements

Applicants should meet the following criteria:

• 3–7 years of post-qualification experience (PQE) in Media & Entertainment Law
• Strong preference for hands-on experience in music law, including deals, licensing, and publishing
• Sound understanding of copyright, IP, and related legal frameworks
• Excellent drafting, negotiation, and client communication skills
• Ability to work independently with a self-starter mindset

Responsibilities

The selected candidate will be responsible for:

• Advising clients on music licensing, publishing, rights exploitation, content creation, and distribution
• Drafting, reviewing, and negotiating artist, composer, lyricist, producer, and label agreements
• Handling music licensing and publishing contracts, content commissioning agreements, IP assignments, and production agreements
• Managing client relationships and supporting transactions end-to-end
• Collaborating with internal teams on ongoing matters
• Tracking developments in media, music, copyright, and IP laws
