About the Job

PLR Chambers is hiring Associates (2+ PQE) for its Government Advisory | Policy & Legislative Drafting Team in Mumbai. The role offers hands-on exposure to high-impact policy projects at a government client-site.

Eligibility

• LLB/LLM from a recognized law school
• Minimum 2 years post-qualification experience in a law firm or chambers
• Ability to work autonomously under partner/counsel guidance
• Preference (not mandatory): Maritime law qualification/experience

Responsibilities

• Legal review and inputs on inter-ministerial drafts, policy proposals, regulatory models, and administrative actions
• Review/advice on Office Memoranda (OMs), circulars, guidelines, schemes, SOPs, model frameworks
• Drafting/review support for legislation and delegated legislation (rules/regulations/notifications/orders), including explanatory and justification notes
• Policy-linked litigation support: research notes, briefings, affidavit inputs, rebuttal points, chronologies, and coordination with arguing counsel
• Matters relating to public procurement, GFRs, and implementation aspects of Make in India initiatives (as relevant)
