About the Fellowship

NLSIU is inviting applications for four Research Fellow positions under the sixth cohort of the P. A. Sangma Fellowship for Legal and Policy Research.

The Fellowship seeks to expose Fellows to the complex social and economic challenges of Meghalaya, a Sixth Schedule State, and facilitate interventions through analysis of legal and policy frameworks in collaboration with senior policymakers of the Government.

Research Fellows will be jointly mentored by Nodal Officers of the Government of Meghalaya and NLSIU.

Eligibility

The Fellowship is open to:

  • NLSIU students who have graduated in the B.A. LL.B. (Hons.), LL.M., and M.P.P. courses,
  • Domicile citizens of Meghalaya with law degrees from any university

Duration

12 months, extendable

Stipend

  • Monthly stipend: INR 60,000
  • Monthly House Rent Allowance: INR 10,000

Selection Process

Eligible and shortlisted candidates will be interviewed. Upon selection, the Government of Meghalaya will provide the terms of reference for the Fellowship.
