About the Job

Fox Mandal & Associates is inviting applications for the position of Associate – Privacy & Data Protection at its Bengaluru office.

The role involves advising on data protection laws, compliance frameworks, and handling privacy-related legal matters in a fast-evolving regulatory landscape.

Eligibility

• LL.B./LL.M. from a recognized institution
• Minimum 2 years of Post Qualification Experience (PQE) in a reputed law firm/MNC
• Experience in data protection/privacy laws
• Privacy/Data Protection certifications will be an added advantage

Strong understanding of:

• Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023
• Digital Personal Data Protection Rules, 2025
• Global frameworks such as GDPR
• Knowledge of data governance and regulatory compliance
• Ability to advise on cross-border data transfers, consent mechanisms, and privacy-by-design
• Strong research, drafting, and communication skills
• Ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams

Responsibilities

• Advise clients on data protection and privacy compliance
• Conduct audits and gap assessments
• Draft and review privacy policies, DPAs, and agreements
• Assist in incident response and data breach assessments
• Conduct research on evolving privacy and tech laws
• Develop client alerts and thought leadership content
• Support internal compliance frameworks and business development initiatives
