About the Job

NLU Delhi is inviting applications for the position of Academic Fellow under the K.L. Arora Chair on Criminal Law. The role involves undertaking research, organizing academic programmes, contributing to curriculum development, and promoting scholarship in criminal law at both national and international levels.

Eligibility

  • LL.M. or a relevant Master’s degree in Social Sciences (Criminology/Psychology) from a recognized Indian or foreign university with a minimum of 55% marks (or equivalent grade) and a good academic record.
  • Applicants with a Master’s degree in Social Sciences must demonstrate a clear track record of interdisciplinary research involving law.
  • Proficiency in criminal law is essential.
  • Prior research experience, including fieldwork and data collection, is desirable.

Responsibilities

  • Promote and undertake research in criminal law and publish research in the annual journal under the Chair.
  • Organize national and international seminars and conferences on criminal law.
  • Develop research projects, curriculum, teaching methodologies, training programmes, and advocacy initiatives.
  • Impart training in criminal trial practice.
  • Recommend candidates for the Gold Medal recognizing outstanding contributions to criminal law.
  • Establish collaborations and exchange programmes with reputed international universities.
  • Conduct research and training on contemporary criminal law issues, including cross-border terrorism, victimology, and other emerging legal challenges.
  • Undertake any other academic or professional activities to further the objectives of the K.L. Arora Chair.
