About the Job

As a Senior Legal Counsel specializing in technology law, you’ll support the Airline IT business across Asia-Pacific (APAC) and the Middle East, Turkey, and Africa (META), working closely with the Associate Director. Airline IT is undergoing significant transformation, and you’ll help shape the legal strategy that enables this evolution.

You’ll oversee and negotiate complex Software-as-a-Service (SaaS) and outsourcing agreements, including IT solutions agreements with major airline customers, while effectively communicating risks to stakeholders. This role requires autonomy, sound legal judgment, and a commercially focused approach, with daily interaction across customers, internal teams, and global Legal colleagues.

Eligibility

• Law degree (JD, LLB, LLM) and legal qualification to practice, preferably in a common-law jurisdiction.
• Experienced legal professional with relevant expertise in technology, IT, SaaS, and outsourcing agreements, including data privacy considerations.
• Prior private practice experience and high-quality training in a common-law jurisdiction preferred.
• Ability to work independently, simplify complexity, balance commercial and legal considerations, and apply sound judgment with a business-focused mindset.
• Skilled in building collaborative relationships and communicating effectively with diverse stakeholders.

Responsibilities

Airline IT Legal Support

• Provide legal support to Airline IT business across APAC/META markets
• Enable sales teams through solution-oriented, commercially practical legal advice
• Draft, negotiate, and interpret complex technology and commercial agreements with airline customers
• Support all deal phases including bids, negotiations, escalations, post-signature issues, claims, and litigation

Strategic Implementation & Account Management

• Act as a strategic business partner to Airline IT units
• Identify and manage legal, compliance, and risk-related issues impacting business performance
• Advise on risk mitigation strategies and support implementation of commercial strategies
• Serve as an escalation point and liaise with senior management where required

Policy Implementation

• Implement and monitor compliance with global contracting policies and procedures
• Contribute to development and improvement of contract templates
• Support and deliver legal and contract-related training for internal teams
• Apply specialist expertise to business-critical and strategic contracts

Stakeholder Management

• Collaborate across departments to support continuous business improvement
• Identify and organise training to ensure stakeholders are informed and engaged
• Build effective working relationships with internal teams and global legal colleagues
