About the Job
The Sr. Legal Analyst will be part of the Global Legal Service Center (GLSC) and will perform a variety of data and information management activities under the supervision of 3M Legal Affairs attorneys, managers, and/or supervisors.
This position reports to the GLSC Multiple Pillar Work Group Lead and works closely with 3M Legal Affairs paralegals.
The Sr. Legal Analyst is expected to be an experienced eDiscovery professional with foundational knowledge of the Electronic Discovery Reference Model and the collection of electronically stored data for preservation and review.
Eligibility
- Bachelor’s degree in Law with high academic credentials from an accredited institution
- 5–7 years of experience in legal analyst or eDiscovery roles, preferably in MNCs, law firms, or Global Capability Centers
- Proficiency with Microsoft Purview and Nuix Discover
- Basic knowledge of legal concepts and terminology in litigation, particularly related to eDiscovery
- Knowledge of databases and corporate systems relevant to eDiscovery
- Strong organizational skills and ability to manage multiple priorities
- Effective interpersonal skills and ability to communicate in written and spoken English
- Additional eDiscovery or data management course certification
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office, especially Microsoft Excel
- Familiarity with AI / Gen AI tools as they relate to eDiscovery
Responsibilities
Under the direction of 3M Legal Affairs attorneys and paralegals, the Sr. Legal Analyst will perform tasks related to gathering, organizing, administering, and/or managing information and databases for litigation, investigations, or early case assessment.
Data Management:
- Collect and analyze data for litigation preservation and review
- Interface with outside review vendors as needed
- Assist in preparation of project plans including cost estimates, timelines, and resources
- Organize data and perform analysis to ensure legal requirements are met
- Develop knowledge of policies, regulations, and trends related to legal information management
- Initiate requests, inquiries, and follow-up with clients and/or vendors
- Perform basic analysis to identify efficient information management methods and tools
- Design and provide reports and summaries based on client needs
Database Management:
- Serve on teams evaluating database tools and make recommendations for system design and enhancements
- Ensure database integrity by reviewing data and resolving discrepancies
- Recommend process improvements and technology options for managing information
- Troubleshoot, evaluate, test, and assist in implementation of upgrades and updates
- Provide documentation for user and training manuals
Collaboration and Communication:
- Establish and maintain relationships with attorneys, employees, outside counsel, and vendors
- Respond to routine inquiries and requests from clients
- Participate in special projects as required
