About the Job

Gujarat National Law University (GNLU) is inviting applications for the post of Research Associate.

Eligibility and Experience

• Master’s Degree or a higher degree (M. Phil/ Ph. D) in Law with specialization in Criminal Law/ Social Work/ Sociology with at least 55% marks (or an equivalent grade in a point scale wherever grading system is followed) from an Indian University, or an equivalent degree from an accredited foreign university;
• Good knowledge of latest national and international research trends and developments in Law;
• Working experience in MS Office, basic knowledge of information technology;
• Strong analytical skills, excellent English writing and communication abilities and the ability to manage research projects;
• Excellent research and writing skills;

Roles and Responsibilities

Under the guidance of Principal Investigator/CoInvestigators, the incumbent shall perform the following roles and responsibilities in project titled “An empirical Study on the Status and Functioning of Child Care Institutions (CCI’s)/ Children Homes established under Juvenile Justice Act 2015 in India”. 

• Provide research assistance to Principal Investigator/ Co-Investigators; 
• Conduct interdisciplinary research in view of aim and objectives of the Project; 
• Developing qualitative and quantitative tools, and making qualitative and quantitative research analysis; 
• Collecting data, compilation of datasets and interpretation of data analysis and report writing;
• Participate and present the research work in Conference/ Symposium as per guidance of Principal Investigator/ Co-Investigator; 

• Perform project related duties including administrative, coordination, etc. required to achieve the aim and objectives of the project; 
• Any other research or project related work which may be assigned by the Principal Investigator/ Co-Investigator;

Role Demands

• Research experience in the area of Criminal Law or Juvenile Justice;
• Experience           in         handling            Qualitative         and
• Quantitative data; Female candidates shall be preferred.
