The Pan-India Online Essay Writing Competition, 2026 is an academic initiative organised by the Pro Bono Club, School of Law and Public Policy, Avantika University. The competition provides a national platform for students, academicians, professionals, and researchers to engage with pressing constitutional questions through structured academic writing and legal analysis.

Legal Recognition of Same-Sex Marriage in India: Constitutional Rights and Social Realities
Submission Categories
- Students (School/College)
- Academicians
- Professionals / Others
- (All categories will be evaluated under a common assessment framework.)
Prizes
- 1st Prize: ₹2,000/-
- 2nd Prize: ₹1,000/-
- Next Three Best Entries: ₹500/- each
- E-Certificates of Participation for all valid participants
- The decision of the judges shall be final and binding.
Formatting Guidelines
- Word limit: Maximum 1500 words (excluding endnotes, bibliography, and declaration)
- File format: MS Word (.doc/.docx)
- Font and spacing: As per standard academic writing norms
- Footnotes are not permitted
- Endnotes and references are allowed
Selection Guidelines
- Essays will be evaluated by a panel of senior academicians based on:
- Knowledge and understanding of the subject
- Use of evidence and legal sources
- Quality of argumentation and originality
- Structure, clarity, and writing style
- Persuasive force and constitutional reasoning
- Plagiarism, contract cheating, or use of AI-generated content will lead to disqualification.
Submission Guidelines
The participant’s name must not appear anywhere in the essay document
File name format: FirstName-LastName-Profession-District-docs
(Example: Chirag-Sharma-Student-Indore-docs)
Essays not adhering to the prescribed format will be rejected
Registration and Submission Deadline (Important Dates)
- Registration Opens: 01 January 2026
- Early Bird Registration Deadline: 04 February 2026
- Late Registration Deadline: 20 February 2026
- Submission Deadline: 20 February 2026 (11:59 PM IST)
- Result Declaration: 27 February 2026
- Awards Ceremony: 02 March 2026
