About the Seminar
The National Seminar on “Restraint on Media: A Pathway to Strengthen Democracy”, organized under the initiative of the Internal Quality Assurance Cell (IQAC), Army Institute of Law, Mohali, aims to provide a scholarly platform for critical engagement with the evolving role of media in a democratic society.
Scheduled to be held on 28th March, 2026, the seminar seeks to bring together academicians, professionals, researchers, and students to deliberate on the ethical, constitutional, and regulatory challenges faced by media in the modern era.

Papers are invited from:
- Faculty members

How to Submit
- Abstracts must be submitted via email.
- All submissions should be sent to: [email protected]
- The subject line of the email should clearly mention the category of submission and the sub-theme.
- After selection of the abstracts, the participants will subsequently receive a mail.
Submission Categories
- Abstract Submission
- Full Paper Submission
Submission Guidelines
- Abstracts must be 250–300 words, accompanied by the author’s name, designation, institutional affiliation, email ID, contact number, and postal address.
- Full papers must be 3000–5000 words, inclusive of footnotes.
- Mentioning the chosen sub-theme is mandatory.
- Manuscripts must be typed in Times New Roman, font size 12, with 1.5 line spacing on A4 size paper and 1.5″ margins on all sides.
- ILI citation format must be strictly adhered to.
- Co-authorship of up to one co-author is permitted only for faculty and professionals.
- No co-authorship is allowed for students and research scholars.
- Certificates will be awarded only to paper presenters.
- The Best Paper, as adjudged by the Resource Persons, will be published in the AIL Journal.
Processing Charges
- Faculty and Professionals: ₹1000/-
- Research Scholars and Students: ₹700/-
Payment details and the registration form will be shared via email after confirmation of acceptance of the abstract.
General Instructions
- Acceptance of abstracts will be communicated via email.
- Registration is mandatory for presentation.
- The seminar will be conducted in offline mode.
- Participants are advised to adhere strictly to the submission deadlines.
- The decision of the Organizing Committee shall be final and binding.

- Submission of Abstract -16th February, 2026
- Confirmation of Acceptance of Abstract – 23rd February, 2026
- Submission of Full Paper with Registration fee – 18th March, 2026
