About Jindal Society of International Law

The Jindal Society of International Law is a student-led initiative under the aegis of the Centre for the Study of United Nations (CSUN) of Jindal Global Law School, and under the guidance of our esteemed Faculty Coordinators Professor (Dr.) Vesselin Popovski and Prof. Abhinav Mehrotra. Founded in 2020, this Society is an initiative to provide a platform to young international law enthusiasts. The purpose of this Society is to increase student interaction with the subject matter of International Law through its various initiatives.

About the Lecture

This guest lecture is the first of many lectures under the ‘Unpacking International Law’ series. The first lecture is on the topic ‘Rethinking International Investment Law from a Critical Lens’. The lecture will be hosted online and is scheduled for 2:00 PM IST on 22nd September 2025.

The distinguished speaker for this lecture is Mr. Harshad Pathak who is a Visiting Faculty member at the National Law School of India University (NLSIU), Bengaluru. He works as a Consultant with Mayer Brown, Paris, where he represents foreign investors and states in investor-state disputes. Having previously worked with law firms in Delhi, Geneva, and Brussels, he has acted as counsel in arbitral proceedings pursuant to the ICSID Convention, UNCITRAL Arbitration Rules, SIAC Rules, ICC Arbitration Rules, VIAC Rules of Arbitration and Mediation, among others.
