About Alternative Dispute Resolution Committee

The Alternative Dispute Resolution Committee of Presidency School of Law is a student-driven committee dedicated to promoting awareness and proficiency in alternative dispute resolution mechanisms, including mediation, conciliation, mediation, and negotiation. The committee fosters a culture of amicable dispute resolution through workshops, training sessions, and national-level competitions. With experienced faculty members and legal experts guiding the initiatives, the ADR Committee provides students with a practical understanding of dispute resolution mechanisms beyond traditional litigation.

About the Opportunity

The Presidency School of Law National Mediation Competition 2025, organised by the ADR Committee,  provides law students a platform to engage in simulated mediation proceedings. It aims to enhance advocacy skills, strategic thinking, and understanding of mediation law by mirroring real-life mediation processes before expert arbitrators and mediators.

Scheduled Dates for the Event: November 15–16, 2025.

Venue: Presidency University Campus, Bengaluru.

Theme

  1. The mediation problem for Preliminary Rounds and Quarter-Final Rounds shall be based on Matrimonial Disputes.
  2. The theme for the Semi-Finals and Final Rounds shall be disclosed after the announcement of Qualifying Teams.

Eligibility

  1. Open to all students enrolled in a 3-year or 5-year LL.B. course at institutions recognised by the Bar Council of India.
  2. Each institution may register a maximum of two teams.
  3. Each team must have three members: one Mediator and a Client-Counsel pair (roles fixed at registration).

Registration Fee

  1. ₹3,800/- (Rupees Three Thousand Eight Hundred Only) (inclusive of accommodation, non-refundable).
  2. It shall be paid by each team upon confirmation of their slot. Upon successful completion of the Payment only shall the Team Code be sent to the respective teams.

Registration Process

  1. Registration is first-come, first-served. Teams must complete the online registration form and upload proof of payment.
  2. A unique Team Code will be assigned upon confirmation.
