The Centre for Training & Research in Commercial Regulations invites registrations from law students across the country for the 2nd National Article Writing Competition on Antitrust Laws, 2025, to be held on 4th October, 2025.

About Organisation

Maharashtra National Law University, Mumbai (MNLU, Mumbai or NLU, Mumbai ) is a National Law University located at Mumbai, Maharashtra, India. MNLU Mumbai offers a five-year integrated B.A LL.B.(Hons.) programme and LL.M. Programmes. Students have to qualify CLAT to secure admission to the UG or PG courses offered by the university. Admissions at NLU Mumbai are through Common Law Admission Test (CLAT) considered one among the Top-10 toughest entrance examinations in India / Country.

About the Centre for Training and Research in Commercial Regulations, MNLU Mumbai

The Centre for Training and Research in Commercial Regulations (CTRCR) was established at MNLU Mumbai with the vision to encourage and promote discussion, training, and research in the fields of commercial and economic law. The Centre brings together academicians, professionals, industry experts, regulators, judges, and students to deliberate on contemporary challenges and changes in the business environment – both domestic and global. Through scholarly engagement and collaborative learning, CTRCR aims to contribute significantly to commercial law and regulatory policy discourse.

Event Details

The 2nd National Article writing competition on Antitrust law, 2025 has been designed to cultivate deep academic inquiry and practical understanding of India’s Antitrust Laws . This event provides a platform for law students to critically analyse antitrust-related legal issues, propose innovative reforms, and gain real-world exposure through a structured workshop featuring leading experts in the field.

Workshop Details

A workshop on Antitrust Laws will be held on 4th October, 2025 and is open to both students and legal professionals. It will offer focused discussions on recent amendments, landmark judgments, and practical aspects of the competition law. The sessions will be led by distinguished Antitrust professionals, practitioners, and legal scholars. Workshop participants will gain a well-rounded view of current antitrust practice and policy.

Eligibility

  • Open to all undergraduate law students enrolled in 3-year or 5-year LL.B. programmes from recognised institutions in India.
  • Legal professionals and postgraduate students are welcome to attend the workshop, but are not eligible to submit articles for the competition.

  1. Deal Value Thresholds and Killer Acquisitions in India’s Startup Economy
  2. Competition Law in Public Procurement: Ensuring Fairness, Transparency, and Market Integrity
  3. Evolving Dimensions of Merger Control: From Traditional M&A to Innovative Corporate Structuring
  4. Evolving Approaches in Competition Law Enforcement and Procedural Reforms
  5. The leniency Regime in Competition Law: Balancing Self-Reporting Incentives with Effective Cartel Enforcement.
  6. Antitrust Law at Crossroads: Intersection with Allied Legal Regimes like Intellectual Property Law, Foreign Investment Law, Space Law and any other Laws.

Participants are free to write on related topics as long as they are within the ambit of the Antitrust Laws.

Prizes

  • Top 3 Entries: 4- week internship at a top-tier law firm.
  • Top 10 Entries: Publication in the Journal on Corporate Law and Commercial Regulations (subject to editorial review).
  • All Valid Submissions: Certificate of Participation

Submission Procedure and Guidelines

  • Word limit: 2500–3500 words (excluding footnotes)
  • Abstract: 150–200 words
  • Format: .doc/.docx (no PDFs)
  • Citations: Bluebook 21st ed. (footnotes only)
  • No identifying information in the document body
  • Submissions with more than 15% plagiarism (excluding citations) will be disqualified
  • Use of AI tools beyond grammar checking is strictly prohibited
  • The submission name should be saved with the TC codes as provided.

Formatting Guidelines

  • Font: Garamond, Size 12 (text), Size 10 (footnotes)
  • Line Spacing: 1.5 (text), Single (footnotes)
  • Alignment: Justified
  • Margin: 1 inch on all sides
