NUSRL Hosts Fulbright Specialist Prof. (Dr.) Mark D. Bauer from Stetson Law, USA

The National University of Study and Research in Law (NUSRL), Ranchi, is hosting Prof. (Dr.) Mark D. Bauer of Stetson Law, Florida, USA, as a Fulbright Specialist from 3 October to 11 November 2026.

Prof. Bauer, who joined the NUSRL campus on 3 October, is engaging in the University as part of an academic programme focused on strengthening comparative legal education, faculty development and professional capacity building.
During his visit, Prof. Bauer is teaching the second-year B.A., LL.B. and B.B.A.,LL.B Tort-II course, with a special focus on “Consumer Protection Law: A Comparative Perspective on India and the United States.” The course is being conducted through physical classes till 11 November 2026. As per the academic planner, the engagement comprises 24 lectures, covering 36 contact hours, from 5 October to 11 November 2026.
The comparative approach will provide students with an opportunity to understand consumer protection law from both Indian and United States perspectives and to engage with contemporary legal issues through an international academic lens.

In addition to his engagement with students, Prof. Bauer is also contributing to the professional development of NUSRL’s faculty members and administrative staff.

A 10-hour Faculty Development Programme (FDP) is being conducted for faculty members. The programme is designed to facilitate academic interaction and professional exchange with an international legal scholar.
A 10-hour Professional Development Programme (PDP) is also being organised for the administrative staff of NUSRL.

The academic engagement is being hosted by the Chair on Consumer Research and Policy (CCRP), NUSRL, with the approval and support of Prof. (Dr.) Ashok R Patil, VC, NUSRL, Ranchi. The visit reflects NUSRL’s continued efforts to provide its students and academic community with opportunities for international academic engagement, comparative legal learning and professional development.
