NLU Odisha 2025 Placements: 50 Students Secure Offers; ₹22.5 LPA Highest Package

The graduating batch of 2025 at National Law University Odisha (NLUO) has recorded 50 placements out of 80 students who actively participated in the recruitment process. This marks a positive placement trend for the institution, with students securing opportunities across top law firms, advisory organisations, public sector undertakings, and policy think tanks.

Law Firms Offers

A total of 30 students were placed in domestic law firms, reflecting strong engagement from top recruiters. Notably, Saraf & Partners emerged as the highest recruiter, offering placements to 5 students. Other major law firms such as Shardul Amarchand Mangaldas and Argus Partners made 3 offers each. 

Firms including Cyril Amarchand Mangaldas, Lakshmikumaran & Sridharan, and IndusLaw extended 2 offers each. Several other law firms—Khaitan & Co, Trilegal, JSA, Luthra and Luthra Law Offices, Wadia Ghandy & Co, S&A Law Offices, Poovayya & Co, T&S Law, Bose & Mitra, Economic Law Practice, Tatva Legal, Sagus Legal, and Casus Chambers—offered 1 placement each, contributing to a wide range of opportunities for students in private practice.

Corporate In-House Offers

In the corporate and public sector domain, 13 students secured positions. Davies Wallis Foyster (DWF) emerged as the leading recruiter in this category, extending 4 offers. Ujjivan Small Finance Bank, Tata Power Central Odisha Distribution Limited, and Indian Renewable Energy Development Agency Limited (IREDA) offered 2 positions each. Additionally, ICICI Bank, Indian Farmers Fertiliser Cooperative Limited (IFFCO), and Welspun Group recruited 1 student each.

Other Organisations and Fellowships Offers

The university also reported placements in the policy and research sector, with 3 students placed in think tanks. Further, 2 students received prestigious fellowships, including the Graduate Impact Leadership Programme at Nation with Namo. One student was awarded the PRS Legislative Assistant to a Member of Parliament (LAMP) Fellowship, while another was selected for the Freedom Innovation Fellowship by the Internet Freedom Foundation.

Opportunities in litigation were secured by 2 students, who have joined the Chambers of Saswat Kumar Acharya and Rishabh Dheer respectively. Additionally, paralegal positions were offered to 2 students, at AZB & Partners and Saakshya Law.

Apart from placements, 5 students have received offers for higher education at prestigious institutions such as King’s College London, Queen Mary University of London, University of Dubai, Symbiosis Law School, National Law School of India University (NLSIU), and National Academy of Legal Studies and Research (NALSAR). A segment of the graduating batch is also preparing for competitive examinations, including Civil Services, Judiciary Exams, SEBI Grade A (Legal), JAG, and CAT.

The highest salary package offered this year was ₹22.5 lakh per annum, while the average salary package stood at ₹14.33 lakh per annum—indicating a healthy compensation landscape for graduating students.

The placement process was facilitated by the Recruitment Coordination Committee (RCC), comprising student members Aditi Sinha, Ananya Gudihal, Anuj Kulhar, Chitrangda Saini, Kanishk Kaushik, Kritika Patnaik, Mohit Chand, Sachin Thakkar, Sansita Swain, Shubhangini Rathore, Soumya Sinha, Sourav Jena, Suryansh Sritej Mohanty, and Suvanwesh Das. 

The committee worked in collaboration with the university administration, led by Vice-Chancellor Prof Ved Kumari, Registrar Prof (Dr) Rangin Pallav Tripathy, Placement Coordinator Dr Arjyalopa Mishra, and faculty advisors Dr Nikita Pattajoshi and Dr Mayank Mishra.

Overall, the 2025 placement cycle at NLU Odisha reflects a diverse and impressive outcome, highlighting the institution’s growing reputation and the multifaceted career choices its graduates are pursuing.
