About the Armed Forces Tribunal

Armed Forces Tribunal is a military tribunal in India. It was established under the Armed Forces Tribunal Act, 2007. In 1999, the Law Commission’s 169th report stated that disciplinary and service matters required quick resolutions and proposed a special tribunal for the military and paramilitary forces.

About the Opportunity

The Armed Forces Tribunal is seeking applications from law professionals for the job role of Tribunal Officer/Section Officer, for the Chandigargh Bench.

2 (Two)

Eligibility

Persons working under Central Government or State Governments or Supreme Court or High Courts or Subordinate Courts or Statutory/ Autonomous bodies having pensionary benefits:

(A)

  • holding analogous post on regular basis in parent cadre or department, or
  • holding post in the Level – 6 of the Pay Matrix with five years regular service in the grade, and

(B) possessing the following qualifications and experience:

  • Degree of a recognized University. and
  • Having 2 years experience in personnel, administrative or judicial work.

Desirable: Degree in Law.

Note: The period of deputation including the period of deputation in another ex cadre post held immediately preceding this appointment in the same or some other organization or department of the Central Government shall ordinarily not exceed three years.

Age Limit: The maximum age limit for appointment by deputation shall not exceed 56 years as on the closing date of receipt of applications.

Remuneration

Level 7 (Rs 44,900 – 1,42,400)

The application in the prescribed pro-forma (Annexure-1) of the eligible officer, who can be spared in the event of his/her selection may be forwarded to the

by the Department latest by June 30, 2022 alongwith photocopies of the Annual Confidential Reports for the last five years of the candidates alongwith Vigilance Clearance Certificate.

The applications received without supporting documents, photograph, unsigned and incomplete in any manner, shall be summarily rejected.
