About the job

The LOCS Legal Mentorship Program is welcoming applications from interested candidates, with a penchant for IP, Tech Law and Data Protection. But more importantly, the mentorship program is designed specifically for those who envision themselves in leadership positions in their professional pursuits, whether at a law firm, a company or as an entrepreneur running their own offices. The scope of the program goes far beyond a regular legal internship. It is curated in a way that it takes minimum but consistent effort for four weeks, to bring about a shift in perspective of a young lawyer to become a confident leader in their own realm.

Through this program, we fill a chasm in the traditional internship model by – I) making the opportunity to learn more accessible and ll) emphasising the development of interpersonal skills. We have developed our curated programs after thoroughly researching the need of the hour. We have successfully curated four options one can pick from, that give one the maximum flexibility of pursuing our program along with other internships and also the option to choose the intensity of the program, best suited for them.

The LMP aims to

• Introduce scholars to multi-jurisdictional legal matters, provide guidance on how to approach them while inculcating cultural nuances and lead with confidence
• Demonstrate the implementation of sustainable practices at work, establish sustainability as a core value and a way of life
• Provide guidance by encouraging meaningful discourse
• Encourage a culture of learning and development of the soft skills/people skills
• Foster a “growth mindset”
• Build a network comprising professionals from different backgrounds
• Master goal-setting
• Acclimatise students to work effortlessly in a remote working environment
• Educate students on the importance of mental health and how to strike a work-life balance by taking care of oneself.

Eligibility

• Enrolment in the third year or above in a Bachelor of Law degree program, Masters or PhD degree programs
• For young professionals, one must be within 0-3 years of graduation from an undergraduate/postgraduate law program
• A basic background in IP Law, Tech Law and Data Protection
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

Duration of Internship

April 20 – May 20, 2023

Timings

1 hour per day, for 5 days a week for 4 weeks
