Internship Experience with Advocate Ravi Tiwari Arya, District and Sessions Court, Mhow by Vaishnavi Tripathi

Name, College, Year of Study of the Student Intern
My name is Vaishnavi Tripathi, I am a 2nd-year student of a five-year BALLB course at Indore Institute of Law, Indore.
Name of the Organization
Advocate Ravi Tiwari Arya, District and Sessions Court, Mhow.
Duration of the Internship
1 month (21.03.2022 to 20.04.2022)
How Did You Apply?
I got the internship with the help of my personal contacts. Anyone can get an internship under him by approaching him directly.
Work Profile /Main Task
The main tasks of my internship included:
- Reading case files and legal notices.
- Attending the proceedings of the court.
- Interacting with clients and picking out major points from their facts.
- Understanding the nuances of cross-examination and other hearings of court.
- Learning drafting of plaints, and legal notices under sec. 138 of the NI Act and written statement, etc.
Work Environment
The working environment was very amiable. Ravi sir was very open and friendly, he used to ask us if we have any doubts and cleared our doubts, and made us understand everything in a simple manner. All co-interns were very supportive and helpful. They explained to me every nook of the day-to-day proceedings of the court. I learned the step-by-step procedure of civil and criminal cases by virtue of their knowledge and affability. Ravi sir believed in giving practical knowledge more than bookish learning, so he used to make us understand every section with help of various ongoing cases. By interning with him, I got practical exposure to the things I learned in my classes.
Good Things
The best thing I experienced in my internship was that, though I was in my first year having very little knowledge about the proceedings of the court, my mentor was so patient in explaining the concepts. I was very pleased that I got to learn about the working of lower courts at the very beginning of my law school. I learned to make case files and got to know what steps are to be followed after a case is filed. I got well acquainted with the jurisdictions of the district and sessions court.
Bad Things
I did not find any bad things in my internship.
Stipend (if any)
No stipend was provided.
